Holiday company launches all European destinations with a money back guarantee
This Black Friday, Thomas Cook will launch its summer 21 holidays to all European destinations with a money back guarantee at no cost and deposits starting from £39 per person.
The company, which re-launched in September promising “covid-ready” holidays, began by only offering destinations that were quarantine-free – changing the destinations each week in accordance with the new travel corridor rules. Following customer demand, Thomas Cook is now offering all European destinations for Easter onwards as either fixed or flex holidays providing customers with the choice to decide if they want to protect their holiday from future quarantines.
The fixed option offers great value deals on non-refundable hotels and flights from 22nd March or customers can choose a flex holiday to make it quarantine-proof. this means they can change or cancel their booking if quarantine remains in place when they are due to depart, providing the reassurance that, if restrictions remain, they can get their money back or move to a different destination or later date.
For Black Friday, the usual cost to quarantine-proof, which is from around £50 per person, will be waived meaning all holidays on www.thomascook.com will come with a money back guarantee. Black Friday deals starting from £119 per per person are available here: https://www.thomascook.com/deals/black-friday.
The new approach means customers can, for the first time since the relaunch in September, book holidays to mainland Spain and the Balearics as well as France, Egypt and Tunisia. In addition, Portugal and Turkey holidays will return, both of which were removed once they were removed from the UK government’s travel corridor list. Also, as part of the new “covid-ready” approach, Thomas Cook is partnering with its sister company Club Med to sell 12 of its resorts for next summer. The resorts include Club Med Da Balaia in the Algarve, the five-star Club Med Cefalu in Sicily and Club Med Valmorel in the French Alps.
Selected holidays will now be available with low deposits from £39 per person including deals to the Canaries this winter from £129 per person.
Alan French, chief executive, Thomas Cook, said: “Since the news of the vaccine we can see that customers have been ever more keen to book their summer holiday but we also know they want the reassurance of a money back guarantee.
“We’ve designed our new policy to give customers the choice of price and security so those who are looking reassurance can have it and those that feel more confident can get the best possible price. We can see customers are craving something positive for 2021 and we think booking a holiday with added protection is a great way to lock in a great deal now while covering yourself if things don’t improve.
“And because we know Brits love a pre-Christmas giveaway, we’ve decided to give all of our holidays a free money-back guarantee for the weekend of Black Friday meaning now really is the time to start planning for next summer.”
Licensed by the CAA and Atol-protected, the new Thomas Cook is a purely online business via a new website www.thomascook.com offering customers thousands of hotels and flight routes so they can design their own holidays.
Fosun Tourism Group – one of the world’s largest leisure companies which also owns Club Med – acquired the brand and online assets of Thomas Cook in November last year.
